Talk Before You Walk
The Talk Before You Walk initiative is being rolled out across the region and is aimed at supporting new ways of working as we continue to manage COVID-19. In particular it aims to ensure patients are directed to the most appropriate service and ensure our Emergency Departments are kept free for those with serious or life threatening emergencies. Please follow the #DoYourBit link for more information.
Coronavirus Updates
COVID Vaccinations
Please wait to be called, do not ring the surgery to make an appointment or to ask when the vaccines will be available, this is jamming the phone lines for other patients. You will be contacted when it is your turn, this may be by the surgery, the local contact centre or you may also be sent a text link to your mobile phone to book your own appointment. We are working through the recommended age cohorts as per government advice but also have to wait until stocks of the vaccine are delivered. All vaccinations will be given in the Riverview hub or for the very frail housebound patients, at home. We will never ask for any financial information from you, if you are contacted by anyone asking for financial information please hang up, as it may be a scam.
For information on local local restrictions please follow this link:
Coronavirus local restrictions
Please be aware that we are not able to book coronavirus tests. You only need a coronavirus test if you are showing any of the following symptoms: a high temperature a new, continuous cough a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste. If you do need a coronavirus test, please go to www.nhs.uk or phone 119. If you live with someone, or someone in your support bubble, who has symptoms or tested positive for coronavirus please self-isolate for 14 days. You do not need a test unless you show symptoms yourself.
Restoring Services
We are working very hard to restore services to some sort of normality but need to do this in a safe and measured way to ensure the safety of staff and patients. We have therefore re-opened our waiting room so that patients that have been asked to come down do not have to wait outside in the rain, PLEASE NOTE THIS IS ONLY FOR PATIENTS THAT HAVE BEEN CONTACTED BY THE SURGERY AND ASKED TO COME DOWN. PATIENTS STILL MUST NOT JUST ATTEND THE SURGERY WITHOUT BEING ASKED TO ATTEND. The reception is open only to arrive patients, ALL other requests such as prescription requests etc. will continue to be online or over the telephone.
We really appreciate your support during this difficult time.
