WHY DOES THE RECEPTIONIST NEED TO ASK ME WHAT’S WRONG WITH ME?

It is not a case of the receptionist being nosey!

We have asked our receptionists to ask patients why you need to be seen and to collect brief information from you so they can:

  • Direct you to the most suitable person to help you, this could be the Practice Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, Pharmacist or GP. Our trained team all have appropriate skills to deal with various problems, not all appointments need to be with a GP.
  • Help the clinicians prioritise home-visits and phone calls
  • RECEPTIONISTS ARE BOUND BY THE SAME CONFIDENTIALITY RULES AS CLINICIANS AND ANY BREACH OF CONFIDENTIALITY WOULD BE TREATED VERY SERIOUSLY AND DEALT WITH ACCORDINGLY
  • Thank you for your support
