Home Visits

Telephone: 0191 5210210

Please telephone before 10:30 in order to avoid considerable delay as the doctors may have already left to go on their home visits.

The receptionist may ask for some information as to the reason for a home visit, this is to assist the Doctor in assessing the urgency of the call. Please give as much information as you feel comfortable with. Home visits are for patients too ill to come to the surgery, the doctor can see four patients in surgery in the time it would take them to do one home visit. Home visits are at the absolute discretion of the doctor.

District Nurses work in the Health Centre Treatment Room giving injections, taking bloods, syringing ears, applying dressings and measuring blood pressures. They also make home visits if necessary for housebound patients only.
